It Might Be Karma 1860 Muenchen Shoots Its Way Out Of The Crisis With A Goal From 60 Meters

"It might be karma": 1860 München shoots its way out of the crisis with a goal from 60 meters

1860 beats Ingolstadt 2-0

In the Bavarian derby, the Munich Lions celebrated a deserved 2-0 (1-0) victory over FC Ingolstadt on Saturday afternoon in front of 15,000 spectators at the Grünwalder Stadion.

It was the first home win since August 20th, 2022, which ended an inglorious series of seven games without a three-point win in the home stadium.

The Munich team, which had previously been bottom of the table, has now climbed to 16th place in the table with 24 points and is thus only two points behind FC Ingolstadt, who are 15th.

Bär and Lex put the Lions on the road to success

Martin Bär put the hosts in the lead with a deflected shot from 60 meters in the 20th minute, after which Marcel Bär increased the lead to 2-0 in the 55th minute.

Ingolstadt had no answer to the strong performance of the Munich team and thus suffered their second defeat of the season against their city rivals.

Outburst of joy after the final whistle

After the final whistle, the relief and joy among the 1860 players and fans was palpable. The victory was celebrated as if it were a championship.

Coach Michael Köllner was also visibly moved: "It was a great day for us. We played very well and deserved to win. The team showed great character and fought for every ball.

"Maybe it was karma. We had a lot of bad luck in the last few weeks, but today everything went our way. I'm very proud of my team."
