Carlos Alcaraz has announced he will not compete at the upcoming Internazionali BNL d'Italia. The Spaniard, who won Wimbledon last year, has been struggling with a right forearm injury. Alcaraz is 18-5 for the 2024 season.
Alcaraz has not played since losing to Jannik Sinner in the fourth round of the Miami Open in March. He was forced to withdraw from the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Barcelona Open with the same injury.
The Internazionali BNL d'Italia is a clay-court tournament held in Rome. It is one of the nine ATP Masters 1000 events on the tour. The tournament begins on May 8.
